Tennessee got the scoring started early in the first quarter when Jake Locker hit Kendall Wright for a 10-yard touchdown pass. Arizona got on the board late in the first quarter with a field goal before Tennessee scored the next 10 points to take a 17-3 lead. Kevin Kolb led Arizona on a late touchdown drive, connecting on a 3-yard touchdown pass with Andre Roberts with just eight seconds to play in the first half.
John Skelton started the game for the Cardinals and struggled, completing 4-of-10 passes for 41 yards and an interception. Kolb took over and had much more success than he has previously this preseason. Kolb completed 9-of-12 passes for 95 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Kolb is expected to see some more time during the third quarter as Arizona looks to even their preseason record at 2-2.
