Victim Of Shooting Near Cardinals-Raiders Game In Stable Condition

The shooting that took place around 9:30 p.m. Friday night during the Raiders-Cardinals game in Glendale was apparently "fan-based", writes D.S. Woodfill of the Arizona Republic.

It was the shooter who called 911 and told operators that he accidentally shot the victim in a parking lot near a hotel close to the stadium, following an argument. He stayed on the scene and was taken into custody as the victim was transported to a local hospital. It is not known at this time if either person involved actually went to the game, though they were in the area with that intention.

Reports late last night were that the victim was shot in the face and that he had life threatening injuries, but his condition has been updated to stable and he is expected to survive. It has been reported that he is 30 years old, but police are currently not releasing the names of the shooter and victim, citing the pending investigation and charges.
