Wade Miley seeks to bounce back from his rough outing last week in game one against the Houston Astros.
The Arizona Diamondbacks open up a three game series against the Houston Astros on the road on Friday. Arizona dropped two of three games to the Cardinals and is currently sitting at .500 (59-59), six games back in the National League Wild Card race. This series against the Astros givse the D-backs a chance to gain a game or two in the playoff race; Houston owns the worst record in baseball and is 3-7 in its last ten games.
Astros LHP Wade Miley (12-8, 3.02 ERA) takes on LHP Dallas Keuchel (1-4, 5.29 ERA) in game one on Friday night. Miley, an NL Rookie of the Year candidate, only lasted four innings in his last start and gave up six runs. He is looking to bounce back from his worst outing since late June in which he gave up eight earned runs in three innings. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. PT.
Game two probables: LHP Patrick Corbin (4-4, 3.41) vs. Astros RHP Jordan Lyles (2-9, 5.47).
Sunday: At Houston, 11:05 a.m.
Game three probables: Diamondbacks RHP Ian Kennedy (10-10, 4.35) vs. Astros RHP Armando Galarraga (0-3, 5.75).
