The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to get back on track against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night. After dropping the series opener on Tuesday evening at Busch Stadium, the D-backs will turn to Joe Saunders. The Cardinals will counter with Adam Wainwright, who has been on quite the roll lately.
In his last three starters, Wainwright is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 22 innings. He has typically pitched well against Arizona throughout his career, going 4-3 with a 2.48 ERA over 40 innings of work.
Saunders hasn't been horrible the last few weeks, going 1-2 with a 3.59 ERA over 20 innings of work in his last three times on the mound. He's pitched just 8.1 innings in his career against the Cardinals, and he's gotten knocked around a bit.
First pitch from St. Louis is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CST / 5:15 p.m. PST.
