Coming along with the announcement of Taylor Kelly as the new starting quarterback, the Arizona State Sun Devils released an updated depth chart to reflect that change and others.
The full depth chart is posted here, and House of Sparky has some of the notable changes to pay attention to.
Tight End: Marcus Washington moving up to co-starter
X Receiver: Rashad Ross now the starter
Y Receiver: J.J. Holliday now the starter
Nose Tackle: Jaxon Hood and Mike Pennel now listed as co-starters
Spur: Chris Young now the starter.
Both Hood and running back D.J. Foster are true freshman with local ties.
There is still plenty of camp left before the season opener on August 30 against NAU, so the depth chart has plenty of time to change a bit more.

Arizona Sun Devils coach Todd Graham announced that redshirt sophomore Taylor Kelly will be the starting quarterback for the season. But ask backup Michael Eubank, and he'll tell you the competition is just beginning.
Eubank spoke with Fox Sports Arizona about the potentially chaotic quarterback situation that could develop at ASU this year.
Eubank is a 6'5", 242-pound monster of a man with quick feet and a strong arm. Graham heavily recruited Eubank while he was the coach at University of Pittsburgh, and the redshirt freshman is a fan favorite because of his electric upside.
The red-shirt freshman is using the snub as motivation, like all good competitive individuals.
"The quarterback competition is not ended just yet," Eubank cautioned. "I take everything as motivation."
Kelly's slight experience edge also helped garner him the starting spot. The coaches told Eubank he was too prone to lingering around when nothing was showing up instead of using his speed to take off.
"If that's how it has to be, that's how it will be," he said. "I'll just work harder each and every day."
If Eubank shows enough improvement, even Graham acknowledged that the situation could change pretty quickly. He plans on giving Eubank weekly snaps -- starting in goal line and short-yardage situations -- but insists it is a very close two-horse race.
"This is just the beginning, and it will be a process," Graham said. "We'll see where we end up."

Now that the Arizona State Sun Devils have named redshirt sophomore Taylor Kelly as the starting quarterback for the Aug. 30 opener against Northern Arizona, the team has its No. 1 signal caller.
But for how long? How short will the leash on Kelly be, and furthermore, how much will talented backup Michael Eubank play in the opener and beyond, and will he eventually take over as the starter this season?
House of Sparky's Brad Denny takes a look back at the three-man quarterback competition and how Kelly, who wasn't the favorite to win the job at the outset, emerged as coach Todd Graham's choice. Denny writes:
"While he's not a strong-armed and polished passer like Bercovici nor a running threat the caliber of Eubank, Kelly has improved his passing game—especially on deep throws—while being a speedy running threat outside of the pocket. While his physical skills and stature (6-foot-1, 203 pounds) won't turn a lot of heads, his game management skills stood out among the group and landed him the starting job."
The Sun Devils will miss Brock Osweiler, the clear leader of their offense in 2011, who departed for the NFL. But the new administration under Graham has a chance to make its mark with new personnel on the field. All eyes will be on Kelly and Graham.

Sophomore Taylor Kelly, the leading candidate to take over as the starting quarterback for Arizona State after the departure of Brock Osweiler to the NFL, has won the job.
ASU coach Todd Graham made the announcement after Monday's practice in Tempe, Ariz. Kelly, who played sparingly last season as a backup, will get the start when ASU opens the 2012 regular season against Northern Arizona.
Kelly, a 6-1, 203-pound native of Eagle, Idaho, known for his running ability, gets his chance to lead a major college team. He beat out competitors Michael Eubank and Mike Bercovici for the job, although Eubank will apparently go in as the backup and get snaps in the opener.
The score of the game might dictate how much Eubank, a redshirt freshman, gets to play. But Graham might like to see Eubank get snaps earlier in the game when the score figures to be closer.

The Arizona St. Sun Devils have a quarterback battle on their hands. With Brock Osweiller graduated and on his way tot he NFL, there are several candidates to take over the starting QB job. There's sophomore Mike Bercovici, fellow sophomore Taylor Kelly and redshirt freshman Michael Eubank. All of them are in contention to start for ASU come opening night 2012.
We now appear to have a clear delineation of who's first, who's second, and who's third in the overall quarterback rotation. Brad Denny of House of Sparky has more from Tempe.
After ending spring practice as a slight leader in the three-man battle to become Arizona State's next starting quarterback, Mike Bercovici has faltered in fall camp, while Taylor Kelly and Michael Eubank have shined, and on Monday, head coach Todd Graham made his strongest comments yet in the offseason long quarterback battle.
"If we played today, Taylor would be the guy," said Graham, and first tweeted by Will Boor of The State Press.
...
"We have one mission: own the football. I don't care about stats. I just want to take care of the football," Graham said. "But the one that's going to play isn't the one who has the best physical skills. It's going to be the one that will take care of the ball."
It's unclear which of these quarterbacks will be ready to go for opening night, but it's clear Todd Graham has a solid trio of youngsters he can grow and develop with the next couple of years.

The Sun Devils may have not named their starting quarterback yet but that isn't detouring head coach Todd Graham's high aspirations.
