Are Cardinals Players Getting Fed Up With The Quarterback Controversy?

Two preseason games have been filed away by the Arizona Cardinals and so far, the team has looked average at best. Scoring has come at a premium, as none of the quarterbacks seem to have much luck moving the ball down the field. If they can't get a grasp on things soon, we may be in for another long season of Cardinals football.

But fans aren't the only ones getting impatient with the less than mediocre quarterback play. Offensive guard Daryn Colledge had some choice words for sideline reporter Jody Jackson during an in-game interview.

When prompted, Colledge had this to tell Jackson (via Craig Morgan of CBS Sports and Fox Sports Arizona):

Ouch. It seems that everyone is getting a little bit fed up with all of the seesaw action. Neither John Skelton or Kevin Kolb have proven that they can be consistently relied upon and the starting job is still up for grabs. That's really not a good thing at this point.

So far, Kolb is 2 for 9 in the preseason and has a 0.0 passer rating. Yes, some of that can be attributed to dropped passes, a lack of preseason communication and poor offensive line play, but excuses can only go so far. Skelton, on the other hand, seems to look good at times and works well within the pocket, but his accuracy and decision making still have a long way to go.

The players, coaches and fans deserve better than that.

The odd part is, Colledge needs to get his own unit going before complaining about anyone else's. The offensive line is far from being, "locked up" and it needs to perform better in pass protection situations if they want the quarterbacks to play better. It's really a vicious circle.
