On Sunday, the FedEx 400 took place at Dover International Speedway. One of the trickiest courses in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series lived up to its billing, as it proved befuddling for many of the drivers.
The race was marred by a big 12-car crash in the early laps, which included several "start-and-park" drivers who wrecked their cars before they had a chance to park. This wreck could end up being disastrous for those drivers and their teams.
Jimmie Johnson took advantage of a late caution to take the checkered flag, taking over the lead from Jeff Gordon, who had led for 60 laps at that point. The caution proved to be the ultimate turning point, as Johnson took home the checkered flag and Gordon ended up in 13th place.
