Arizona has two of their strongest representatives qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics in the Swimming Trials.

One of them is Matt Grevers, who was the silver medalist in the 100 meter backstroke. Grevers is headed back with an incredible qualifying time, in fact the second fastest in the history of the event. Grevers beat out Nick Thoman, who is also headed to London to represent the United States in the 100 meter backstroke.

On the women's side, Breeja Larson upset Rebecca Soni and Jessica Hardy to win the 100 meter breaststroke and earn her place in the London Olympics.

Other Arizona-related swimmers included Alyssa Anderson, who advanced to the 200 meter freestyle finals tomorrow, and Caitlin Leverenz (originally from Tucson) will be part of the 200 meter individual medley. In the other finals, Michael Phelps beat out Ryan Lochte in the 200 meter freestyle, and Missy Franklin and Rachel Bootsma earned the two bids in the 100 meter backstroke.
