Can Phil Mickelson win his first major in over two years at the 2012 U.S. Open? Jim Furyk, Martin Kaymer and Tim Clark also have good odds to win as well.
There are number of golfers with Arizona-connections at the 2012 US Open, and headlining the field is Phil Mickelson. Of all the players in contention, the Arizona State graduate definitely is the most recognizable face, although that probably doesn't make him a great bet to win it all.
According to VegasInsider, Mickelson comes out with 15:1 odds, tied for fourth-lowest odds with luminary golfers like Lee Westwood and "The Field". With such low odds, it doesn't make much sense to bet on him unless you have a great deal of faith he'll pull off the win at Olympic Country Club in San Francisco. Mickelson is also paired with Tiger Woods (lowest odds) and Bubba Watson (30:1 odds put him a tie for 10th)
There are several other golfers in good spots. Jim Furyk has 40/1 odds, and Martin Kaymer and Tim Clark have 50/1 odds each. Here are the odds for the remaining Arizona golfers.
