Stay connected for news and updates

The Fresno State Bulldogs are champions of the 2012 WAC Baseball Tournament following a wild finish against the Sacramento State Hornets in the 13th inning. The next stop for the Bulldogs: Omaha, for the College World Series.

Sacramento St. took an early 2-0 lead, but Fresno St. rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Hornets then tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth, and that would remain the score through 12 innings. The Bulldogs held the opposition scoreless in the top half of the inning, setting up a wild rally for the bottom half of the inning.

Daniel Moultrie drew a one-out walk and Austin Wynns followed with a single. With runners on first and second and just one out, Jordan Luplow singled down the right field line. Moultrie sprinted around third base and scored easily, giving Fresno State the 4-3 walk-off victory.

The team improved to 30-26 overall with the win. It was a proper ending to what has been a great season of WAC baseball.
