WAC Baseball Tournament 2012 Results: Fresno State, Nevada Advance

Here are the results from the first day of WAC Baseball Tournament action.

Wednesday

Game 1: #5 Fresno State 8, #4 Hawaii 2

Fresno State scored six times in the sixth innings to pull away in what had been a tight contest. Hawaii was shut down by Thomas Harlan for the most part, giving up eight hits while striking out five. All eight runs that crossed the plate were scored by eight different Bulldogs.

Game 2: #3 Nevada 4, #6 Louisiana Tech 3

Carlos Escobar had a walk-off homer to win this one for the Wolf Pack. Bradley Shipley earned the victory with a 138 pitch five-hitter performance. Nevada had been trailing 3-1 in the sixth before Joe Kohan brought in the two tying runs.

Thursday

Game 3: #4 Hawaii vs. #6 Louisiana Tech, 11 AM. Loser is eliminated.
Game 4: #2 Sacramento State vs. #3 Nevada, 3 PM
Game 5: #1 New Mexico State vs. #5 Fresno State, 7 PM
