Preakness 2012, Results And Recap: I'll Have Another Moves One Step Closer To History

On Saturday, I'll Have Another did the unthinkable for the second time in the past three weeks. The Kentucky Derby winner needed a mad dash in the home stretch to catch and overtake betting favorite Bodemeister at Churchill Downs two weeks ago and on Saturday, the surprising horse repeated the feat in perhaps an even more thrilling fashion.

Bodemeister again entered the 2012 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico as the betting favorite and again jumped out to an early lead. Bodemeister only extended his lead rounding the final turn, but I'll Have Another (as we have now learned) is an absolute beast in the home stretch. I'll Have Another fired the afterburners and chased down Bodemeister to win by a nose right at the wire and secure the first two jewels in the Triple Crown. The Belmont Stakes is all that stands between I'll Have Another and racing history.
