Arizona State Baseball Falls In Rankings After Disappointing Weekend

The Arizona State baseball team plummeted in collegiate baseball rankings across the country after they got swept by Oregon this past weekend.

ASU fell ten spots to No. 24 in the Baseball America rankings. This is the lowest the Sun Devils have been ranked all season by Baseball America and could be another bad weekend from falling out of the rankings entirely.

The Sun Devils fell out of the Collegiate Baseball poll, which ranks the top 30 teams in the country. ASU baseball is ranked No. 23 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) poll, and No. 26 in the Perfect Game poll.

The University of Arizona rose four spots in the Baseball America poll, jumping from No. 8 to No. 4. The Wildcats swept the Stanford Cardinal over the weekend in their most impressive series of the season. Stanford had been ranked No. 2 by Baseball America coming into the series. The Wildcats improved to 21-7 on the season and 7-2 in Pac-12 play.
