2012 NFL Mock Draft: Jaguars pick up Protection For Blaine Gabbert

Stay connected for news and updates

With the seventh pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa.

The Jags badly need someone to help quarterback Blaine Gabbert stay upright and make throws without getting killed. Reiff is the best lineman on the board after Matt Kalil. Reiff has impressed a lot of people and in a QB league, keeping them healthy is the charge of their head coach.

This is why they go that way. It won't matter who Gabbert is throwing to. They need to give him blindside protection.

The Miami Dolphins are now on the clock. Brad Denny will make the pick.

Previous picks:

  1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
  2. Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
  3. Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC
  4. Cleveland Browns: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
  6. St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
