NASCAR held the Auto Club 400 on Sunday in Fontana, CA. The race ended up being called short due to rain, the first time a race has been shortened due to weather in the history of Fontana's Auto Club Speedway. The 200-lap race was called after the red flag came out on Lap 129.
When the initial caution came out on Lap 124, Tony Stewart faked towards pit road but instead stayed out with the race car and grabbed the lead. As a result, he was awarded first place in the race when the official call was made to end the race. The first-place finish was the second of the season for Stewart. He now sits in fourth place in the 2012 Sprint Cup Series standings, one point behind Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Greg Biffle finished in sixth place and remains the overall Sprint Cup leader, followed by Kevin Harvick.
