Shane Doan has been suspended three games by the NHL for his hit on Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars Tuesday. Doan will also forfeit more than $150,000 in salary.
The Phoenix Coyotes captain will miss crucial matchups against the Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues. All the games have major playoff implications, making them must wins.
With Radim Vrbata, Adrian Aucoin, and Taylor Pyatt all out of the lineup already, adding Doan to that list will make getting the much needed wins an uphill battle.
