The Wildcats face an underrated and battle-tested Hurricanes team late Sunday night in Hawaii.
The Arizona Wildcats cruised to a 20-point win over East Tennessee State as the Diamond Head Classic kicked off Saturday. On Sunday night, the 'Cats will face a much tougher challenge against the Miami Hurricanes.
Miami used a big second half to knock off Hawaii on Saturday night, and they have a couple of marquee wins on their resume, including one over Michigan State. While the Hurricanes have been on a roll in recent weeks, some tough news came Sunday morning as big man Reggie Johnson was ruled out with a thumb injury. Johnson averages nearly 13 points and 10 rebounds a game.
The 'Canes feature plenty of other talented players on the roster. Four average double-figures in points, including senior guard Durand Scott. As a team, they shoot 47.8 percent from the field and slightly more than 37 percent from behind the three-point arc. Their biggest challenge is rebounding, and Johnson's absence could mean trouble for Miami against Arizona's talented front line.
Start Time: 11:30 p.m. ET, 9:30 p.m. in Arizona
TV: ESPN2
Online Stream: ESPN3
Odds: Arizona is favored by five points.
