Arizona Cardinals have options at center

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Despite the offensive line's struggles this season, the Cardinals have depth at the center position.

The Arizona Cardinals are searching for answers on offense. While quarterback play has been lacking in recent weeks and there have been inconsistencies with the running game, the offensive line has slowly been improving after a poor start.

As injuries begin to pile up on the line, the Cardinals are not without options. Arizona was blown out in Week 14, and they lost starting center Rich Ohrnberger for the season after placing him on the injured reserve. This week in practice, the coaching staff essentially held an open tryout for the starting job at center. Here is what coach Whisenhunt had to say following practice via the team's official website:

"We've got some guys that have played that position before. So we're going to work those guys in it too and see how we feel about it as the week progresses."

Scott Wedige, a rookie who has played sparingly this season, saw time at center once Ohrnberger went down in Seattle. He could be the starter on Sunday. Guards Adam Snyder and Daryn Colledge are other options to handle the snapping duties, as is Mike Gibson, who was signed this past week to add depth to the roster.

Regardless of who starts, it is pretty safe to say the coaching staff will not be without options in Week 15.
