Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE

Running back Beanie Wells feels he will be ready to go against the St. Louis Rams as soon as he comes off the injured reserve/able to return list.

Running back Beanie Wells is confident he'll be playing in the Arizona Cardinals game against the St. Louis Rams on Nov. 25, saying there is "no doubt." The contest is the earliest Wells can get back on the field after being activated from the injured reserve/able to return list, which he was placed on for tearing ligaments in his toe.

"Heck yeah I'm real excited," Wells said. "It's been a challenge. It's hard to be out there and watch practice and not do anything."

Wells will be eligible to practice again on Wednesday and will use Arizona's bye this week and the game against the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 18 to prepare.

Against the Falcons -- and while Wells works his way back to full strength -- the Cardinals will continue using a stable of running backs to carry the load. LaRod Stephens-Howling is likely to get another start against Atlanta.

Wells's return will give Arizona a boost in the running game, where it has struggled all season. The Cardinals rank last in the league with only 76.2 rushing yards per contest.

In his three games before suffering the injury, Wells totaled 76 yards on 27 carries for a 2.6 average of yards per carry.
