McKale Center fire is put out, reportedly in equipment room

After a report that the Tucson Fire Department responded to a call of smoke coming from the rook of the McKale Center, where the Arizona Wildcats basketball team makes its home, it is now being reported that the fire has been put out, according to KOLD Tucson News Now.

Reporter Patrick Finley from the Arizona Daily Star tweeted that Arizona Athletic Director Greg Byrne told him that the fire "was in the equipment room."

All of the stadium was fulled with smoke, according to the report and visibility was low for firefighters, but they were successful in putting out the fire.

The cause not known yet, but is continuing to be investigated.

Arizona's women's team is scheduled to play there Monday and the men's team on Tuesday for its final exhibition. The men's team is scheduled to open the regular season at home on November 11 hosting Charleston Southern.

There have been no injuries reported and the total damage is yet unknown.
