The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils are hanging outside the top 25 in the latest college football BlogPoll.
The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils have both performed quite well in turnaround seasons for each of the programs. In the latest BlogPoll Top 25, Arizona is currently spotted at 40th, while Arizona State ends up at 43rd. It's interesting that Arizona is ranked ahead of ASU given that the Sun Devils won the head-to-head matchup, although it was hardly a decisive victory.
Here are the full BlogPoll results.
Results for Week 13
SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Rankings 2011
Arizona State generally beat the teams the Sun Devils were supposed to beat (four of their conference wins came against Washington State, Cal, Colorado and Utah, all of whom ended up with losing seasons); their win over Arizona was their only win against a winning team. Arizona had more upside to their wins, upsetting USC and throttling Washington, while also landing a marquee win against Oklahoma State. There's no doubt Arizona has the more impressive resume of the two 7-5 teams, although Arizona State is probably plenty happy with the head-to-head win.
