UCLA vs Arizona State update: Devils' early lead dries up, game tied at 14

Arizona State got off to another hot start against UCLA Saturday but the Bruins bounced back to tie the game up at 14-14 at the end of the first quarter.

The Sun Devils opened the game with a three-and-out but were assisted by Stefan Manfro misreading the punt and were able to recover a fumble on UCLA's 13. Taylor Kelly then found Kevin Ozier and the wide receiver earned himself a seven-yard touchdown with a nice move.

After the Bruins opened with a three-and-out of their own, Arizona State began to get in a rhythm with a 10-play drive lead by some solid bursts from RB D.J. Foster. The Devils capped it off with RB Marion Grice carrying it in from two-yards away to give ASU a quick 14-0 lead.

On UCLA's second drive, they finally got their act together. RB Johnathan Franklin pounded in the ball from three yards away to put the finishing touches on a 13-play drive that included a fourth down conversion.

Following a career-high 68-yard punt from Josh Hubner, the Bruins next drive wasn't nearly as effective as QB Brett Hundley missed a wide open Damien Thigpen on third down. But after a Junior Onyeali roughing the passer call gave UCLA new life, Hundley fired in a 15-yard touchdown to Devin Fuller to tie the score up.

The Devils were driving when the first quarter ended and currently have the ball on UCLA's 44.
