The win was there for the taking, but the Arizona Cardinals couldn't capitalize and made a number of mistakes that cost them a 19-16 loss at home on Sunday.
The offense had another series of mistakes on a drive at the start of the fourth quarter. Following a pass to Reagan Maui'a, the fullback spiked the ball after the play was over and received a delay of game penalty. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt was noticeably frustrated by Maui'a and let him know about on the sidelines. Then, the offense committed a false start and Kolb was sacked, leading to a punt.
Still, Jay Feely had an opportunity to knock in a kick for the win in overtime, but missed after booming a 61-yarder at the end of regulation.
In the end, the mistakes were too many to overcome. In other weeks at home, they were fortunate enough to make plays when they needed them. On Sunday, they didn't in every single instance. It came down to misplays earlier in the game.
The Cardinals have now dropped their last two after starting the season 4-0. Arizona will look to get back on track at Minnesota next week.
