Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jason Marquis suffered a fractured right fibula in the third inning of Sunday afternoon's series closer against the New York Mets. Marquis took a line drive off the leg from Angel Pagan. The pitcher had kept the Mets scoreless through three innings -- his first strong outing in three since being acquired prior to the trade deadline.
The D-backs had been fairly healthy for the first half of the season, but have now lost starting short stop Stephen Drew to a broken ankle and first baseman Xavier Nady to a broken hand, to go along with Marquis' fracture.
