Arizona Wildcats Recruiting: Gabe York Commits, Will Bring Scoring Mentality To Tucson

Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats received some big news on Sunday afternoon. With multiple AAU tournaments taking place across the country, Gabe York, a combo guard from the class of 2012, gave his pledge to become a Wildcat.

Here is what the talented soon-to-be senior told CBS Sports' Jeff Borzello:

"I felt in my heart that it was the right choice."

"I know I work harder than anyone there, so I'm very confident in what I can do there."

And ESPN's recruiting expert Paul Biancardi had this to say regarding York:

Word is out about Gabe York going to ZONA. Just watched him drop 46 big ones on Indy Elite . A prolific SPG. Eddie House /Dana Barros type!

He projects to play the 2-guard in college, though he has been working on his ball handling and passing this summer. Flexibility in the backcourt is always beneficial and he'll bring that to the Wildcats. York, who comes in at 6'2 and 185 pounds, is the second commit for the class and joins big man Grant Jerrett in a class that's shaping up to be among the best in the nation.

As for the upcoming months, Sean Miller and his staff will now turn their full attention to Brandon Ashley. If they can land the talented big man (and I have a great source saying they will), there's a chance the staff could turn their focus towards scouting the 2013 class. It has been reported that Miller would take a fourth commit should one of a select group of players want to play for the Wildcats, but it will be a big challenge convincing one (more) of the nation's elite to bring his talents to Tucson.

Stay tuned...
