Channing Frye Out Two Or Three Weeks With Dislocated Shoulder

Phoenix Suns forward/center Channing Frye suffered a dislocated right shoulder in Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. At the 6:28 mark of the fourth quarter in a game where Frye already set a career-high 15 rebounds, he was going up for a shot in the post when Kevin Durant slapped down on his arm. The combination of Frye's upward motion and Durant's downward strike, which was inexplicably not called a foul, caused the injury.

Frye left the court in obvious discomfort and did not return to the game. The team returned to Phoenix after the game and an MRI was conducted on the right shoulder which confirmed the dislocation. In an official announcement, the Suns stated that Frye would miss two-to-three weeks. The two-to-three week estimate translates to 10 to 14 games. It should be noted that is a preliminary estimate and is subject to change.

The Suns have only 21 games left in the season and are pushing hard for a playoff spot but currently are out of the money. Frye is averaging a career-high tying 12.3 points and a career-high 6.6 rebounds in 61 games. Frye hadn't missed a game this season and has been playing at an extremely high level. The Suns are 17-3 in games that Frye scored 15 or more points.
