NCAA Tournament Saturday Schedule: Final Four Features Kentucky-Connecticut And VCU-Butler In Must-See TV

Butler Connecticut. Kentucky. Virginia Commonwealth.

These are the last four teams standing in what has turned out to be a wildly unpredictable and very thrilling NCAA Tournament.  VCU, for example, was selected as one of the First Four and had to play an extra game just to make the field of 64. Now, they are in the Final Four and will take on Butler, a team that no one expected to see this late in the season after last year's loss in the National Championship Game, in Saturday's first game.

The second game features two teams that started playing their best basketball at the end of the season and that haven't looked back since. Both Kentucky and U Conn won their respective conference tournaments (the SEC and the Big East) and they will now play one another for the right to go to to the National Championship Game.

Here's a more detailed look at Saturday's must-watch Final Four schedule:

Saturday's 2011 NCAA Tournament TV schedule (Pacific Time)

3:09 p.m., CBS -- No. 11 VCU vs. No. 8 Butler, (Nantz/Kellogg/Kerr/Wolfson)

5:49 p.m., CBS -- No. 4 Kentucky vs. No. 3 UConn (Nantz/Kellogg/Kerr/Wolfson)

NCAA Tournament Bracket Update: Texas Advances, Thursday Recap

The Texas Longhorns survived an incredible Oakland Grizzlies rally, defeating the Michigan-based school 85-81 in early NCAA Tournament action on Friday afternoon. Oakland was working to continue the bracket-busting trend that began yesterday with an incredible opening day of March Madness.

Thursday had it all: buzzer beaters, huge upsets, and scares for other highly-seeded teams. The Butler Bulldogs kicked off the madness when Matt Howard hit a layup as the horn sounded to defeat the tough Old Dominion Monarchs, 60-58.

Morehead State was the talk of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, stunning Rick Pitino and the 4th-seeded Louisville Cardinals 62-61. The Eagles were led by Terrance Hill, who scored 23 points. Kenneth Faried played an incredible game, grabbing 17 rebounds to pace all players.

The Eagles advanced as a 13 seed to play the Richmond Spiders, the 12 seed that took care of business against the Vanderbilt Commodores. This is the second time in three years that a 12 and a 13 seed will meet in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (12th-seeded Arizona defeated 13th-seeded Cleveland State 71-57 in 2009).

The Gonzaga Bulldogs also defeated a Big East team, felling St. John's in convincing fashion, 86-71. All in all, the tournament has been everything you could have asked for so far, and the madness has only just begun. Will Notre Dame be able to hold off the Akron Zips? Time will tell.

NBA Prospects Viewing Guide For The NCAA Tournament

For lovers of basketball at its highest form, the NCAA Tournament can be a frustrating slog through some pretty ugly play. Picking teams in your bracket is fun and of course rooting for "your" team is a must, but for many people March Madness is all about watching the NBA Prospects. Basketball fans in Cleveland and Detroit will be keeping a close eye on those top prospects while here in Arizona we are eyeballing players projected to go anywhere from 13 to 25 in the up-coming NBA Draft.

For those NBA Draft loving, prospect watchers we have put together a viewing guide just for you. Today's action includes three of the bigger names in this year's draft discussion: Jimmer Fredette (BYU), Kemba Walker (UCONN) and Kawhi Leonard (SDSU) are all in action today along with a handful of other guys that should be playing in the NBA next season.

Thursday

No. 9 Terrence Jones
No. 16 Brandon Knight, Kentucky vs. Princeton (2:45 PM, CBS)

Jones and Knight are John Calipari's latest one-and-done prospects. Jones is a bombastic scorer in the mold of early Paul Pierce. Knight is the embattled Kentucky guard who is far more Tyreke Evans than John Wall, only smaller than both. Bonus! Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel will likely discuss ineligible Kentucky frosh Enes Kanter, No. 8 on DX's board.

No. 25 Jeff Taylor, Vanderbilt vs. Richmond (4:10 PM, TBS)
The junior Commodore is one of the SEC's better scorers, but needs to show more perimeter polish to move up draft boards.

No. 13 Kawhi Leonard, San Diego State vs. North Colorado (4:40 PM, TNT)
We wrote about Leonard on Wednesday.

No. 27 Patric Young, Florida vs. UC Santa Barbara (6:50 PM, TBS)
Young is Billy Donovan's latest young big man plays under 20 minutes per game, but is a physical specimen in the mold of Al Horford. Keep an eye on him when he's in the game.

No. 17 Jimmer Fredette, BYU vs. Wofford (7:15 PM, CBS)
You know all about The Jimmer, BYU's extraordinary scorer. Is he J.J. Redick? Adam Morrison? Ray Allen? Watch and make up your own mind!

No. 7 Kemba Walker, Connecticut vs. Bucknell (7:20 PM, TNT)
We wrote about Walker on Monday.

Expert Bracket Picks For 2011 NCAA Tournament: Ohio State And Kansas Favored

It's here! Is it better than Christmas morning? It just might be if you are over the age of 12 and have a soft spot for gambling, watching kids play basketball in a sometimes exciting and often frustrating way, or if you picking teams you know little about. To help you with those picks for your last minute bracket needs, we have assembled a list of expert picks from those who spent a lot more time preparing for the 2011 NCAA Tournament than you did.

Real Clear Sports looked at the picks from 24 experts around the country and found that of those, Ohio State is the clear favorite to win it all. Seventy-five percent of picks had them emerging as the national champion with Kansas coming in second (17 percent) and Duke third (8 percent).

Regionally, Ohio State was obviously the favorite to come out of the East and make it to the Final Four. A distant second was Syracuse with just one pick for Kentucky and none for UNC.

Duke was the pick of choice in the West with picks also going for Texas, San Diego State, UConn and Temple.

In the Southwest Region, Kansas is the popular pick, followed by Notre Dame, Louisville and Purdue.

The region with the most diversity of opinion is the Southeast. Pitt was the most popular pick among the experts but they were followed closely by Florida and then some picks also going to Kansas Sate, Wisconsin, Michigan State and BYU.

If you hurry, there's still time to enter a bracket contest, and if you are looking for one,try ours!
