We haven't heard too much about this for awhile so this news out of the Bay Area constitutes the latest:

If the series becomes a reality, the Giants still would play a full home schedule. The Diamondbacks would lose two home games because it's cheaper for Major League Baseball to compensate Arizona for lost gate receipts and other revenue.

The clock is ticking to complete negotiations. Major League clubs are supposed to release their official schedules in concert on Sept. 15, and neither the Giants nor Diamondbacks have held a final vote to approve the proposal.

Players are holding out for equal compensation for coaches and other members of the traveling party.
