Cardinals Cut LB Cyril Obiozor, Sign LB Alex Hall

In the aftermath of Sunday's blowout in Atlanta, the Cardinals have cut LB Cyril Obiozor and signed LB Alex Hall.

Word From the Birds Blog
Hall, 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, was a seventh-round pick of Cleveland in 2008 (when current Cards’ director of pro personnel T.J. McCreight was still there). A college defensive end from St. Augustine, he was part of a multi-player-and-pick trade between the Browns and Eagles. The Eagles cut him before camp, he signed with the Giants, and then was cut before the season.

The Cardinals have also released practice squad LB Curtis Gatewood.

With these moves, the Cardinals shore up positions of need. McDonald especially is a good pickup after having to trade away promising rookie Jorrick Calvin a week back.

Arizona Cardinals Trade Reggie Wells To Philadelphia Eagles

The Cardinals announced today that they've traded offensive lineman Reggie Wells to the Eagles for what has reported to be a sixth-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

AZ Cardinals.com gave this reason for the move:

Reggie Wells traded to Eagles
Given the depth on the offensive line (Deuce Lutui will reclaim his starting right guard job, with Alan Faneca playing the left side) and Wells’ salary (he is due $2.4 million this season), moving the veteran was not unexpected.
