Cards Cornerback Michael Adams Hurts Ankle In Practice, Should Be Fine'N'Dandy

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic tweets that Arizona Cardinals cornerback Michael Adams rolled his ankle in practice today and was carted off the field.

However, he was smiling and such afterward, so no one’s making too big a deal of things. All should be fine in Red Bird Land.

Russ Grimm Runs OTAs In Whisenhunt's Absence

With Coach Whiz off playing golf today at the Safeway Invitational in Cali, Russ Grimm ran things during OTAs. It’s good practice for when he eventually departs the team for a head coaching position.

Fitz gave the assistant coach some props:

“Russ is going to be a head coach soon. We’re going to try and get him a head coaching job soon. We’re going to go to the playoffs a couple more years in a row and he’ll get his opportunity. He does a good job. He’s a natural leader.”

That’s nice of Larry to say. Apparently, Grimm mainly needs to work on the whole “Oh Jesus, you mean I have to talk to those media parasites and front office jerks?” part of the job, and is actually good at the football part.

Personally, I am inside with the greatest invention known to man – air conditioning.

But according to Darren Urban of azcardinals.com, at least some birds are tackling the heat head-on:

Everything wasn’t exactly clicking and it may have been because of the weather. A couple of plays I noticed: Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie dropped an easy interception on an underthrown bomb by Derek Anderson and Anderson missed a wide-open Tim Hightower on a wheel route down the field. Then again, Darren Mougey used his height advantage to snag a pass above cornerback Tru McBride and Stephen Williams made a beautiful diving catch on on play.

Guard Rex Hadnot, who tweaked his knee last week, was back as expected, as was linebacker Gerald Hayes (back). The Cards are scheduled to work out every day through Thursday.
