With all the hoopla set to swoop down upon the Valley regarding Amar'e Stoudemire's contract status, it seemed right to share with you all, dear readers, a strange fact about Mr. Happy Walters: He apparently inspired Adam Sandler's golf-related, Bob Barker-cameo'd movie Happy Gilmore.

Turns out, Adam and Happy are good buddies.

I don't know the exact story -- I joined Happy and Adam for lunch the other day and asked them about it, but they both just looked frightened, asked "Who are you, jerk?" and had me escorted away by a man much larger than I and bearing some kind of firearm -- but I imagine the brain storm went something like this:
